Phone Numbers
Phone Numbers gives customers a consistent way to reach your business and gives your agents or team an approved number for outgoing calls. Each number can be assigned to the customer experience it should serve, such as an inbound sales flow or outbound appointment calls.
Navigation: Open Phone → Phone Numbers, then select the Numbers tab.
Read the numbers table
Each row shows the number, available capabilities, current status, assignment, and actions. A number may support voice, SMS, or MMS, but Versafy features use only the capabilities shown as available.
An assignment can indicate that the number is available for outbound calls or connected to an inbound call flow.
Assign a number to an inbound flow
Assignment connects the public number a customer dials to the exact greeting, agent, operator, schedule, and voicemail journey you designed.
- Create and activate the flow first.
- Find an eligible number in Numbers.
- Choose the inbound-flow assignment or mode.
- Select the active flow.
- Wait for the connection status to complete.
- Place an inbound test call.
If no flow appears, confirm that it is saved, valid, and active.
Use a number for outgoing calls
Using an approved caller number helps recipients recognize where a Voice Agent or campaign call comes from. An eligible outbound number appears in Voice Agent call dialogs and Campaign setup. If the number is absent, check its assignment, status, voice capability, and your plan limits.
Connect a Twilio account
Connecting Twilio directly brings eligible numbers from your own Twilio account into Versafy. This connection is best when you want numbers to use complete inbound flows with Voice Agents, operators, schedules, announcements, and voicemail. Follow Connect a Twilio Account and Phone Number for account verification, regulatory approval, number purchase, connection, and testing.
Import an external number
Importing can let your organization continue using an existing business number with Versafy call workflows. If your workspace supports external voice numbers, use the import action and follow the connection instructions. Imported numbers can have different capabilities from fully managed numbers. Test inbound and outbound behavior before relying on them.
For complete examples covering number purchase, inbound and outbound SIP settings, assignment, and testing, see Connect a Twilio Number through SIP or Connect a Zadarma Number through SIP.
Deleting an external number removes it from Versafy routing. Review assigned flows before confirming deletion.
Troubleshoot a phone number
The number is not selectable
It may lack the required capability, already have an incompatible assignment, be disconnected, or exceed a workspace limit.
An inbound call uses the wrong route
Confirm the assignment shown on the number row, then open the assigned flow and verify its active version.
A change remains in progress
Wait briefly and refresh once. Do not repeatedly change the same assignment while connection work is underway.
